The House of Dana was founded in Barcelona Spain in 1932 by Javier Serra, a pioneer in the beauty industry. He named the company Dana, after the Greek goddess Danae, mother of Perseus. Danae was a great beauty and her name is a symbol for female beauty around the world. The well-known Spanish artist, Mariano Andreu, designed the company's first logo which featured a stylized silhouette of the goddess Danae.
